The 61GS series launched in 1967 and there were a vast variation of models that were produced throughout the production run of the series (51 models in total) that lasted until 1975. The GS 6145/46-8050 is one of the rarer Grand Seiko references as it had a very brief production run in 1972. There were four different colored dials that were released as part of this reference - a blue dial, brown dial, green dial, and a silver dial.
This is an all original vintage 6145-8050 Grand Seiko with a beautiful blue dial. Given the very brief production run of this reference (caseback serial suggest only produced in early 1972) this piece is extremely rare and highly collectible.
Overall, this piece is in excellent vintage condition. The case has some light scratches / dings and has been polished in the past but retains its original edge. The blue dial is in very clean condition with no visible blemishes on the dial. The dial has developed a beautiful patina that changes color according to the light condition. This piece retains its original faceted crystal which has some scratches. The handset and crown are all original and in good condition. The original caseback and gold medallion is in great condition. The movement was just serviced by our watchmaker and is currently running at +7.2 seconds per day.
